Nau mai, haere mai. Welcome to the very first FRINGE Taranaki.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to a brand-new festival for our region, celebrating bold ideas, fearless creativity and the excitement of discovering something unexpected. Inspired by Arts. People. Places., FRINGE Taranaki is designed to bring extraordinary artistic experiences to both traditional and unconventional spaces, creating opportunities for communities to connect through the arts in fresh and surprising ways.
Our inaugural festival launches in spectacular style with the Evolution Dome, making its Aotearoa debut on Tasman Prospect in the heart of New Plymouth. Illuminated each evening, this striking pop-up venue will light up the city as, for 10 extraordinary days, it becomes a vibrant home for theatre, comedy, cabaret, dance, music and interactive experiences that entertain, inspire and challenge.
Alongside acclaimed international and national artists, you'll discover outstanding local performers, while the festival also extends beyond the Dome through schools and communities around the Maunga. Whether you're a lifelong arts enthusiast, attending with whānau or simply curious to experience something new, FRINGE Taranaki invites you to be part of the journey.
Bringing a new festival to life takes the belief and support of many people. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, partners and patrons for sharing our vision and helping bring bold, inspiring arts experiences to audiences and communities across Taranaki.
